Plaston Primer
Plaston Primer is a high quality, 100% pure acrylic resin based coating. It is formulated for exterior and interior use. Plaston Primer has a great hiding power. It eliminates the danger of efflorescence, equalizes the absorption rate, improves adhesion and creates a non-slip surface for Plaston Finishes.
Use
Plaston Primer can be applied over Plaston Base Coat, concrete, stucco and interior drywall.
Coverage
Plaston Primer can be applied in one coat at approximately 1250-1500 ft2 per pail. However, actual coverage varies depending on the surface texture and porosity of the substrate, job condition and application techniques.
Color
Plaston Primer is available in all Plaston standard Colors. Custom colors are also available upon request.
Application
Plaston Primer must be applied to a clean, dry, grease and oil free, structurally sound, and free form release agents and curing compounds. For application over painted surfaces, the paint must be clean, well adhered and chalk or dust free. For concrete surfaces, the concrete should cure for 28 days before applying Plaston Primer. Application over stucco surfaces, the stucco should cure a minimum of 14 days. Plaston Base Coat or Finish Coat should be dry for a minimum of 24 hours.
Mixing
Stir Plaston Primer to a homogeneous mixture. Use clean potable water when thinning is required, but do not exceed a maximum of one pint per gallon of Plaston Primer material.
Application Procedures
Using typical painting tools (brushes or rollers), apply Plaston Primer to the wall in an even continuous coat. Protect from dust, rain and temperatures less than (5°C) for 24 hours.
Drying time
To apply the Plaston Primer, ambient air and substrate temperatures must be (5°C) or above. After application, Plaston Primer typically dries to touch in 1/2 hour and driesto handle or re-coat in 4 hours.
Packaging and Storage
Plaston Primer is packaged in five gallon (70lb) plastic pails and should be stored in its original shipping container at temperature not less than (5°C) or greater than (43°C), away from direct sunlight, off the ground and in dry area.
Plaston Primer has a shelf life of 12 months when properly stored and sealed.
